This building in Winston-Salem, North Carolina was originally designed with a rooftop trolley system to include powered davits and a rigid track system. When ownership of the building was transferred, property management found that the davit trolley system was weathered beyond repair and no longer serviceable. Peak Fall Protection was contacted to provide expert design service for a replacement system. Our team found that the track rails were serviceable and structurally adequate, but the davit system required replacement. Using 3D software, the PFP design team created a digital prototype and then fabricated replacement davit assemblies that required no mechanical or electrical power, constructed of aluminum and steel components, and met requirements for suspended maintenance regulations. The result was a new certified system that requires minimal maintenance, designed to service facade maintenance needs for the life of the building.
