As new lathe lines were built at the Georgia Pacific facility in Emporia, Virginia, Peak Fall Protection provided fall protection to support future manufacturing operations. When possible, personal fall arrest attachment to a rigid overhead anchorage is best practice as the fall distance is minimized. This concept is especially critical in low clearance applications or when there are obstructions or machinery below. Peak Fall Protection was contracted to provide design and turnkey installation of an overhead monorail system to include bracing and attachment to timber truss roof structure. The monorail system can now be utilized to provide linear access along the lathe line as an OSHA compliant fall protection solution.
