When possible, guardrail systems are a preferred fall protection solution. Considered a “passive” solution, a guardrail system does not require employee interaction or training for proper use. Guardrails can be designed to mount to a variety of structures, or when installed at an existing building, can be installed with ballasted bases that are not roof penetrating. This OSHA compliant guardrail system was furnished and installed by Peak Fall Protection at various buildings and roof areas at the Boeing facility in Charleston, South Carolina. Existing fixed ladders were also retrofit with a Ladderguard system that protects the user’s path to and from the ladder location when entering or exiting the roof area.
